Our Story
This started long before the greenhouse.
If you’ve ever spent an evening at my house, you already know something about me. I have never once thrown a small gathering. My house has always been the place people ended up: for a birthday, a Tuesday, a bad week, a good one.
Somewhere between the laughing, the too-much-food, and the beautiful things scattered through every room, that’s just always been home. I’d Plant That is that same energy, just with dirt under the fingernails.
The woman behind it
Nancy
For years, my mom, Nancy, used to sit with me on the back patio of my old house while I worked in a little flower garden right outside her bedroom window. We’d talk about everything and nothing. Sometimes we didn’t talk at all. We didn’t need to.
There was a calm out there that belonged to just the two of us.
When we moved, I left that garden behind and I left a piece of her there too. I didn’t know how to replace it.

What grew from it
The plant that wouldn’t stop making babies
Last fall, I bought a curly spider plant to get the new house through until spring. It was covered in babies. I started clipping and propagating. One plant became five, then five became twenty-five and every single time I potted one up, my mom was right there with me in my mind.
It clicked: this feeling, this calm, this joy, was something worth sharing. That winter, the clicking turned into a plan. Come spring, I got a greenhouse and I’d Plant That was born. Part flower garden, part gathering place, part love letter to my mom.

Come sit at the bar.
This is a place to laugh, to browse, to build something with your hands. And maybe to find a little of that same calm my mom and I found on that patio.
Stay a while. I’d love to have you.
